People leave lemlist when the bill starts tracking headcount instead of sending volume. Seven alternatives in 2026 price that differently, and each gives something up.
Key takeaways
- lemlist raised its flat Email plan from $39 to $69 a month around June 30, 2026, and lifted the included allowance from 5,000 to 50,000 emails a month in the same move, according to a pricing-change log dated that day.
- The Email plan carries unlimited users at $69 a month, while Multichannel is billed at $109 per user per month, so a team of ten pays $69 or $1,090 depending on which plan it needs.
- Two families of 2026 secondary sources disagree on lemlist's entry tier, one describing a flat $69 Email plan and the other a per-user Email Pro at $79. We could not settle it without the official page, and we say so rather than pick the flattering number.
- On plan ceilings, Saleshandy Pro works out at about $0.46 per thousand emails and Woodpecker Growth at about $2.33, a five-fold spread inside the same category.
- Mailshake hard-caps sending accounts at 1, 2 or 10 by plan, which rules it out for the mailbox rotation that 2026 deliverability guidance assumes.
The table sits first, because in this category the pricing model decides more than the feature list does.
What do lemlist alternatives cost in 2026?
Every price below is the list price on monthly billing, as reported by the 2026 third-party analyses linked in each section. The last two columns are ours, computed from those prices and the published volume ceilings.
| Tool | Entry plan (monthly) | Billing model | Bill at 10 users | Cost per 1,000 emails at plan ceiling |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| lemlist Email | $69 | Flat, unlimited users | $69 | $1.38 (50,000 included) |
| lemlist Multichannel | $109/user | Per user | $1,090 | Not published per plan |
| Smartlead | $39 (Base), $94 (Pro) | Flat, per workspace | $94 | Not published for Pro |
| Instantly | $47 (Growth), $97 (Hypergrowth) | Flat, per workspace | $97 | $0.78 (125,000 on Hypergrowth) |
| Saleshandy | $25 (Starter), $69 (Pro) | Flat | $69 | $0.46 (150,000 on Pro) |
| Woodpecker | $29 (Starter), $84 (Growth) | Per prospect contacted | $84 | $2.33 (36,000 on Growth) |
| Mailshake | $29 (Starter), $49 (Email Outreach) | Per user | $490 | Not published |
| Reply.io | About $79/user monthly | Per user | About $790 | Not published |
| QuickMail | $9 (Basic), $99 (Pro) | Flat, unlimited members | $99 | $0.99 (100,000 on Pro) |
Three numbers in that table matter more than the rest. The bill at ten users separates the flat-fee tools from the per-seat tools by a factor of ten. The cost per thousand emails separates Saleshandy from Woodpecker by a factor of five. And the billing model column tells you which of the two you will feel.
Why do people look for a lemlist alternative?
The searches cluster on money rather than features. lemlist's personalization is widely rated the most polished in the category, with dynamic images, landing pages, conditional variables and a live preview, a point 2026 head-to-head reviews keep conceding. What people leave over is the shape of the invoice.
Two things changed in 2026. The flat Email plan roughly doubled in price, and the plan that carries LinkedIn, calls and WhatsApp is billed per user, so it scales with hiring rather than with sending. A five-person team on Multichannel annual billing pays $435 a month. The same five people on the flat Email plan pay $55. The gap is the feature set, and most teams discover they were paying for channels they never sequenced.
What changed in lemlist's pricing this year?
The entry point moved. A pricing-change log dated June 30, 2026 records the Email plan rising from $39 to $69 a month, with the included allowance going from 5,000 to 50,000 emails a month at the same time. The monthly ticket went up by about 77 percent. The cost per email sent, if you actually use the allowance, fell by about 85 percent.
That is a deliberate repositioning rather than a simple increase. The plan is now aimed at someone sending real volume from unlimited mailboxes, not at someone testing 5,000 emails a month. If you were on the old $39 plan and send 4,000 emails a month, you got a price rise with no benefit. If you send 40,000, you got a discount.
The divergence we could not settle
Our research on September 20, 2026 returned two incompatible pictures of the entry tier, and the honest thing is to publish both.
One family of sources describes a flat Email plan at $69 a month with unlimited users, 50,000 emails included, unlimited senders and a 650M-record lead database, with annual billing at $55 a month. That is the reading in Emelia's pricing hub, Hacking Demand, Zeliq and Mailmeteor.
A second family describes Email Starter at $39 per user per month as a legacy plan and directs new customers to Email Pro at $79 per user per month, $63 on annual billing. That is the reading in Landbase, MarketBetter and CASRAI.
Both families agree on Multichannel at $109 per user per month, $87 annual, on a 20 percent annual discount and a 10 percent quarterly discount, and on $9 per extra sending mailbox per month. The disagreement is confined to the email tier, and it is probably a residue of the June change. Treat the $69 flat plan as the likely current state and verify it on the official page before you sign anything.
Smartlead, when the bill should follow mailboxes
Best for agencies and multi-client teams that run many domains and many mailboxes.
Strengths. Pricing is per workspace rather than per seat, which makes it the cheapest sender in the category at comparable volume. Core tiers run $39 for Base, $94 for Pro, $174 for Unlimited Smart and $379 for Unlimited Prime, with annual billing cutting 17 percent, according to concordant 2026 analyses. The higher tiers carry unlimited mailboxes with warmup included, which is what running several sending domains actually requires.
Limits. Smartlead is a sender with no data layer, so it always sits next to a contact source, and that second invoice belongs in your comparison. There is also a cost we missed in earlier research: inbox placement testing is billed separately, from $49 to $599 a month. The serious-sender configuration is therefore more expensive than the plan price suggests.
Price. $39 to $379 a month on the core tiers, plus $49 to $599 for placement testing.
Instantly, when volume is the whole brief
Best for high-volume email sending across many domains, especially for a solo operator or a small team.
Strengths. The Outreach tiers are flat per workspace, at $47, $97 and $358 a month, read on the official pricing page on September 9, 2026. Nothing in the category does a better job of spinning up new sending domains at scale. A 450M-record database sits behind SuperSearch, with waterfall enrichment.
Limits. Outreach, credits and CRM are sold as three separate products, so the realistic entry bundle starts near $94 a month rather than $47. Unibox, the unified reply inbox, only appears on Hypergrowth and above. The credit system is the single most documented complaint. Our full breakdown of Instantly's pricing works through the three meters and the one inconsistency on Instantly's own page.
Price. $47 to $358 a month for Outreach, plus $9 to $197 a month for credits.
Saleshandy, the cheapest cost per email we found
Best for a team that wants sending and a contact database on one flat invoice.
Strengths. Outreach Starter is $25 a month for 2,000 prospects and 6,000 emails, Outreach Pro is $69 for 30,000 prospects and 150,000 emails, Outreach Scale is $139 for 60,000 prospects and 240,000 emails with white labelling, and Outreach Scale Plus is $209 for 100,000 prospects and 300,000 emails with a dedicated CSM, per 2026 comparisons. Pro at $69 with 150,000 emails is about $0.46 per thousand, the lowest figure in our table.
Limits. The advertised database of 852M+ verified contacts with 75+ filters is a vendor claim repeated by third parties, never a coverage test. A record count is not coverage of your market, and none of these sources measures accuracy behind the volume.
Price. $25 to $209 a month, flat.
Woodpecker, when you follow up more than you prospect
Best for senders who run long sequences to small, carefully chosen lists.
Strengths. Woodpecker meters new prospects contacted rather than emails sent, and follow-ups to a prospect already in the system do not count. A six-touch sequence to 500 people costs the same as a one-touch send to 500 people. Plans run $29 for Starter with 500 prospects, $84 for Growth with 3,000 and $188 for Scale with 10,000, per concordant 2026 breakdowns. The free trial lasts seven days with no card, capped at 50 prospects.
Limits. The model punishes the opposite behaviour. If you load large lists and send one touch, you pay for prospects you barely worked, which is why Growth comes out at $2.33 per thousand emails against Saleshandy's $0.46. The ladder is also steep, with nothing between Scale at $188 and Max at $9,999 a month.
Price. $29 to $188 a month on the working tiers.
Mailshake, simple but capped where it matters
Best for a small team that wants one interface and a dialer in the same subscription.
Strengths. Starter is $29 per user per month, Email Outreach is $49 and Sales Engagement is $99, falling to $25, $45 and $85 on annual billing, as of July 2026 according to pricing analyses. Sales Engagement puts phone and LinkedIn automation in the same plan.
Limits. Sending accounts are hard-capped at 1, 2 or 10 by plan, and there is no free trial. Two mailboxes on the $49 tier cannot support the mailbox rotation that current deliverability practice assumes, which is the reason our own checklist treats mailbox count as a constraint on volume. At ten users the bill is $490 a month, five times the flat alternatives.
Price. $29 to $99 per user per month.
Reply.io, for sequences that branch
Best for teams whose sequences need to change path based on what the prospect did.
Strengths. Genuine multichannel with email, LinkedIn, calls, SMS and WhatsApp, combined in conditional sequences that adapt to behaviour, per 2026 comparisons. A free plan exists, which Mailshake does not offer, so evaluation happens before payment.
Limits. Billing is per seat, at roughly $59 per user per month on annual billing and about $79 monthly, so cost tracks headcount exactly as lemlist Multichannel does. If the per-seat model is what you are leaving, Reply.io does not solve it. Reported figures also vary between sources depending on which tier is being described.
Price. About $59 to $79 per user per month.
QuickMail, the lowest entry price in the table
Best for a one-person sender who wants warmup included and no per-seat cost later.
Strengths. Basic is $9 a month for 3,000 emails, 1,000 active prospects and one sending address, Pro is $99 for 100,000 emails and 30,000 prospects with unlimited addresses, and Expert is $299 for 300,000 emails and 50,000 prospects with AI features and API access, according to a 2026 pricing guide. Team members are unlimited on every plan, and warmup is included rather than sold as an add-on.
Limits. The jump from Basic to Pro is eleven-fold with nothing in between, and Basic's single sending address makes it a test tier rather than a working one. We found only one secondary source for this grid, so treat it as the least confirmed set of numbers on this page.
Price. $9 to $299 a month, flat.
Where Freelvy sits in this comparison
Freelvy is our product, an AI sales platform. You use it the way you use ChatGPT or Claude. You describe the customer you want in one prompt, and the agent searches 40+ live data sources at query time, maps, official company registries, job boards, storefronts and ad libraries, instead of filtering a stored snapshot. It then enriches every row with verified contacts through provider waterfalls, six providers for email and nine for phone, and a row that fails verification is never delivered and never billed. It writes and sequences the outreach in the same thread, so search, enrichment and sending are one chain rather than three invoices. Buying signals such as hiring, funding, reviews and ads are readable on the rows, and briefs can be scheduled to run again. Plans start at €49 a month for 1,500 credits, and team members are unlimited on every plan.
Against the tools above, the difference is where the chain starts. Every tool in the table begins with a list you already have. Freelvy begins with the description of the customer and produces the list, then sequences it. Free 7-day trial, no credit card, at freelvy.com.
Which one should you pick?
If you are leaving lemlist over per-seat billing and you only send email, Saleshandy Pro and lemlist's own flat Email plan are the two cheapest credible answers, at $69 a month either way. If you run several domains and many mailboxes, Smartlead and Instantly are built for that, with Smartlead cheaper at volume once you accept the separate placement-testing line. If you run long sequences to small lists, Woodpecker's per-prospect meter is the only model in the category that rewards you for it. If your sequences genuinely need LinkedIn, calls and WhatsApp with conditional branching, Reply.io and lemlist Multichannel are the honest shortlist, and both will bill you per head.
Stay on lemlist if the personalization is doing real work for you. Nothing else in this table matches dynamic images, landing pages and live preview, and a tool that lifts reply rates is worth a per-seat invoice. If you want the wider view beyond senders, our roundup of AI prospecting tools covers the data side, and our lemlist and Instantly head-to-head takes the two most searched options apart on four situations.
How we verified these numbers
All research ran on September 20, 2026. WebFetch was blocked by the network egress policy on every domain we tried, including lemlist.com, so no official pricing page was rendered for this article. Every competitor price here comes from 2026 third-party analyses, at least two concordant sources per tool except QuickMail, where we found one and have labelled it. The Instantly Outreach tiers are the exception and were read on the official page on September 9, 2026 for an earlier article.
The bill at ten users and the cost per thousand emails are our own arithmetic on the prices and ceilings cited, not figures published by any vendor. What we could not confirm is lemlist's current entry tier, where two source families disagree, and the send volumes for Smartlead Pro, Mailshake and Reply.io, which none of our sources published.
FAQ
How much does lemlist cost in 2026?
The flat Email plan is reported at $69 a month with unlimited users and 50,000 emails included, or $55 a month on annual billing. Multichannel is $109 per user per month, $87 annual. A second set of sources reports a per-user Email Pro at $79 instead, so verify the entry tier on the official page.
Is there a cheaper alternative to lemlist that keeps unlimited users?
Saleshandy Pro at $69 a month, QuickMail Pro at $99 with unlimited team members, and Smartlead Pro at $94 per workspace all avoid per-seat billing. Saleshandy also bundles a contact database, which Smartlead does not, so it is the closest single-invoice replacement for a team sending email only.
Which lemlist alternative is cheapest for a team of ten?
On list prices, lemlist's own flat Email plan at $69 and Saleshandy Pro at $69 tie, followed by Smartlead Pro at $94, Instantly Hypergrowth at $97 and QuickMail Pro at $99. The per-seat tools are an order of magnitude higher at that size, with Mailshake Email Outreach at $490 and Reply.io near $790.
Does any alternative include a contact database?
Saleshandy advertises 852M+ verified contacts with 75+ filters, Instantly 450M+ through SuperSearch, and lemlist 650M+ on its own Email plan. All three are vendor claims repeated by third parties. None of the sources we read tested coverage or accuracy, so treat record counts as marketing until you run your own sample.
Why did lemlist raise the price of its Email plan?
A change log dated June 30, 2026 records the move from $39 to $69 a month alongside an allowance rising from 5,000 to 50,000 emails. The effect is to reposition the plan for higher-volume senders. Light senders pay more for the same use, and heavy senders pay much less per email.
Is Woodpecker cheaper than lemlist?
Woodpecker Starter at $29 is cheaper than any lemlist plan, but it covers only 500 new prospects a month. At Growth, $84 for 3,000 prospects, Woodpecker costs more per thousand emails than lemlist's flat Email plan, about $2.33 against $1.38. The answer depends on how many follow-ups you send per prospect.
Do I still need a verification tool with these platforms?
Yes, in almost every case. Sending platforms warm mailboxes and pace volume, but the list still decides your bounce rate, and 2026 guidance treats bounces above 2 percent as poor hygiene. Our guide on verifying a B2B email list covers the checks and what they cost per thousand records.
