People leave ZoomInfo over the contract, not the data. Eight alternatives in 2026 solve that, each trading away something ZoomInfo does well.
Key takeaways
- ZoomInfo's median signed contract is $33,500 a year across more than 1,000 purchases aggregated by Vendr, with a range of $7,200 to $156,000.
- Entry is roughly $14,995 a year for Professional, annual only, with a three-seat minimum enforced on every tier.
- At Professional's reported 5,000 bulk credits, a revealed record costs about $3.00. Apollo's Basic seat works out near $0.02 per credit.
- Self-serve entry points in 2026 run from $19 a month on RocketReach Essentials, billed annually, to $185 a month on Clay Launch, billed monthly.
- Seamless.AI and Cognism publish no paid-plan price. Docket's research, last verified in April 2026, reports Seamless.AI Pro at $79 to $150 per user per month.
- ZoomInfo still ranked number one in 142 G2 Spring 2026 reports, which is why the switch is a trade rather than an upgrade.
If you are pricing a replacement, the useful question is not which tool is best. It is which of the four reasons below sent you looking.
Why do teams leave ZoomInfo?
Four reasons, and they are commercial rather than technical. The contract is annual with no monthly option. The floor is high, near $15,000 a year with a three-seat minimum. Renewal is automatic unless notice lands 60 to 90 days ahead, with escalation clauses reported at 5 to 10 percent a year. And credits meter exports, with overage reported around $1.10.
Vendr's marketplace data puts the median contract at $33,500 a year across more than 1,000 analysed purchases, with a spread from $7,200 to $156,000 and average negotiated savings near 22 percent. Cleanlist's 2026 pricing guide reports Professional near $14,995, Advanced near $24,995 and Elite above $39,995, with additional seats at $1,500 to $2,500 a year. Both were consulted on September 13, 2026.
None of that is a complaint about the data. ZoomInfo remains the US enterprise reference and ranked first in 142 G2 Spring 2026 reports. The question is whether you need enterprise coverage at enterprise commitment.
What criteria should a replacement meet?
Five, in the order that decides most switches. Can you start without an annual contract. What a revealed record actually costs. Whether the coverage matches your geography. Whether the tool does anything beyond selling you rows. And whether you can leave at the end of a month rather than at the end of a year.
Score any candidate on those five before you look at database size claims. Contact counts are marketing numbers, and every vendor in this category has one. Contract terms are the part you live with. Before any contract, test a B2B data vendor before you sign on 50 accounts you already know.
The eight alternatives at a glance
Apollo, Lusha, UpLead, RocketReach and Clay prices were read on each vendor's official pricing page on September 24, 2026: Apollo, Lusha, UpLead, RocketReach and Clay. Cognism and Seamless.AI publish no prices, so their figures are attributed in their own sections below.
The chart compares the cheapest paid plan billed monthly for one user, because that is the one basis every vendor with a public price shares. ZoomInfo, Cognism and Seamless.AI are left out of it because they publish no price.
| Option | Price |
|---|---|
| RocketReach Essentials | $39 |
| Freelvy Starter | €49 |
| Lusha Starter | $49.90 |
| Apollo Basic | $65 |
| UpLead Essentials | $99 |
| Clay Launch | $185 |
What does a revealed record actually cost?
Few comparisons run this division, and doing it reorders the list. Take each tool's entry allowance and divide the price by the records it releases. The spread is two orders of magnitude wide.
Every figure in the right-hand column is our own division, not a vendor claim, except Freelvy's, which restates the credit rule from our pricing page. The ZoomInfo rows use the bulk credits reported by Cleanlist's 2026 pricing guide and leave out the per-user monthly credits, because those depend on the number of seats in each contract. Read them as an order of magnitude rather than a quote. The point stands regardless of the exact denominators. A record that costs three dollars from one vendor costs a few cents from another, and the difference buys coverage, intent data and org charts rather than better email addresses.
Freelvy, if you want verified contacts and the outreach from one prompt
Freelvy is our product, an AI sales platform you use the way you use ChatGPT or Claude. You describe the customer you want in one prompt, and Freelvy searches 40+ live sources at query time rather than filtering a stored database. It enriches every row with verified contacts, with 18 email providers in cascade and 12 phone providers, then writes and sequences the outreach in the same thread. The waterfalls find and verify more than 92% of emails and find more than 90% of phone numbers.

Best for teams whose buyers are spread across markets, sizes and niches that a stored database indexes poorly.
Strengths. A row that fails verification is never delivered and never billed. The sequencer is unlimited on every plan and sends from your own Google or Microsoft mailbox, so sending is not billed per email. Credits pay for finding and verifying contacts and for writing sequences, with one charge per sequence, and one verified email is 3 credits as a rule of thumb. Team members are unlimited on every plan, with no per-seat pricing, so every account executive on the team can prospect from the same plan.
Price. €49 a month for 1,500 credits on Starter, €179 for 6,000 on Pro and €499 for 18,000 on Max. There is a free 7-day trial, no credit card, at freelvy.com.
Freelvy isn't for teams that would rather pay one tool for the data, another for enrichment and a third for sending.
1. Apollo, if you want the widest bundle for the money
Best for teams that want a database, sequences, a dialer and CRM sync in one subscription.
Strengths. The most feature per dollar in the category, at $49 to $119 per seat per month billed annually, with a free tier for evaluation. Monthly billing is available on Basic and Professional, which alone solves the ZoomInfo objection for most small teams. US mid-market data is genuinely serviceable.
Limits. Accuracy outside North America is the recurring complaint, and Docket's Apollo pricing research, written by a sales software vendor, reports Apollo's phone accuracy at 65 to 70 percent against 75 to 85 percent for ZoomInfo. Phone numbers cost 8 credits each, and credits do not roll over.
Price. $49, $79 or $119 per seat per month on annual billing, or $65 and $99 billed monthly for Basic and Professional, with a three-seat minimum and annual billing only on the top tier. Our Apollo pricing breakdown covers the credit mechanics in full.
2. Seamless.AI, if you want real-time search with calling and email built in
Best for teams of five or more that want contact search, a dialer and email sending under one annual agreement.
Strengths. Seamless.AI lists a real-time search engine on its pricing page, and a credit is used each time it researches a contact to find emails, phone numbers and insights. All plans now include Connect, which covers emailing, phone calls and tasks inside the product. A free account with one user and 50 credits lets you test it before any sales call. Its Switch and Save program offers eligible buyers up to 50 percent off what they pay their current provider, with terms applying.
Limits. No paid plan has a public price, and Pro is sold per user on annual credit packages. Docket's Seamless.AI pricing research, written by a sales software vendor and last verified in April 2026, reports that cancellation must be sent 60 or more days before renewal, or the contract renews for another 12 months. Buyers leaving ZoomInfo over renewal terms should read that clause closely.
Price. Not published by the vendor. The free plan gives one user 50 credits, and Pro starts at 10,000 annual credits, according to Seamless.AI's pricing page. Docket reports Pro at $79 to $150 per user per month, depending on team size and negotiation.
Our Seamless.AI pricing breakdown covers the credit allowance, the reported five-user floor and the cancellation window in detail.
3. Cognism, if the gap is European phone data
Best for EMEA calling teams of five or more with budget.
Strengths. Diamond Data mobiles are human-verified before release, with a claimed 98 percent verification rate on that subset, and coverage across the UK, DACH, the Nordics, Benelux, France and Spain is the strongest available.
Limits. No public pricing, no self-serve, no monthly option. Notice periods and renewal terms are not published, and 2026 guides report renewals 10 to 15 percent higher. It replaces one annual commitment with another.
Price. 2026 analyses put the platform fee near $15,000 a year for Grow and $25,000 for Elevate, plus roughly $1,500 and $2,500 per seat. Our Cognism pricing analysis works the seat math at 1, 3 and 10 users. For a team too small for five seats, our Cognism alternatives for small teams prices 100 mobile numbers on each tool.
Our ZoomInfo vs Cognism comparison goes deeper on this one switch, region by region.
4. Lusha, if you want lookups without a project
Best for individual reps who need a contact while they are already looking at a profile.
Strengths. A free tier of 40 credits a month, paid plans from $37.45 a month on annual billing for one seat, and a browser extension that fits into an existing workflow rather than replacing it. On monthly plans, unused credits roll over up to twice the plan's monthly limit.
Limits. A phone number costs 5 credits against 1 for an email, per Lusha's own credit table, which makes calling-heavy use expensive fast. Our Lusha pricing breakdown works out what a phone-heavy month costs on each plan. On annual plans the full year of credits is granted upfront and resets at the end of the annual cycle. Teams larger than five users go through Lusha's sales team.
Price. Free, then Starter $37.45, Pro $52.45 and Premium $299.95 a month billed annually, or $49.90, $69.90 and $399.90 billed monthly, per Lusha's pricing page. Starter includes one seat, Pro two and Premium five.
5. UpLead, if you want verified contacts on a monthly plan
Best for an individual rep or founder who wants verified emails and mobile numbers without an annual contract.
Strengths. One credit unlocks one contact with both the email and the mobile direct dial, so a calling list costs the same as an email list. UpLead states a 95 percent accuracy rate on the email addresses it verifies. Monthly plans carry no contract, and a 7-day free trial includes 5 credits. Plus adds data enrichment, technographics across more than 16,000 technologies and suppression list uploads.
Limits. Essentials and Plus are single-user accounts, so a team moves to Professional, which is billed annually only and priced on a call. Allowances are modest at 170 credits a month on Essentials and 400 on Plus, with extra credits at $0.60 and $0.50 each. Buyer intent data and full API access come with Professional only.
Price. Essentials costs $99 and Plus $199 a month billed monthly, or $74 and $149 a month billed annually for 2,040 and 4,800 credits a year, per UpLead's pricing page. Professional is priced on request.
6. RocketReach, if you need breadth at a low seat price
Best for recruiting and research work where volume of lookups matters more than depth per record.
Strengths. The lowest seat price in this comparison at $19 a month for email-only Essentials on annual billing, with Pro at $52 adding phone numbers and CRM integrations. A lookup that does not find a verified email or phone is refunded. Database breadth is its strongest asset.
Limits. Annual plans carry unlimited lookups, but exports are capped at 1,200 a year on Essentials, 3,600 on Pro and 20,000 on Ultimate, and monthly plans cap lookups at 100, 250 and 1,000 a month. Team plans start at $6,000 a year, which reintroduces a floor.
Price. $19, $52 or $115 per seat per month billed annually ($229, $619 or $1,379 a year), or $39, $79 or $169 billed monthly, per RocketReach's pricing page. Our breakdown of RocketReach pricing per lookup shows what each plan really costs per result.
7. Clay, if you want to build the waterfall yourself
Best for technical growth teams with someone who owns the tables.
Strengths. Orchestrates enrichment across 150+ data providers, whose data Clay's Data Credits buy inside the platform, and since the March 2026 rebuild the most-used enrichments cost 50 percent fewer credits on average, according to Clay. The $495 Growth plan includes CRM auto-sync, HTTP API integrations and webhooks.
Limits. Its core value is orchestration, even though Launch now adds Audiences search and a native email sequencer. Teams that bring their own provider API keys pay those providers separately. Two credit meters, Actions and Data Credits, make forecasting harder than one.
Price. $185 a month on Launch and $495 on Growth, or $167 and $446 a month billed annually, per Clay's pricing page, with a free tier capped at 200 rows per table. Our Clay pricing analysis works out the cost per credit.
Who should stay on ZoomInfo?
Teams selling to US enterprise accounts, using intent data and org charts seriously, with a procurement process that already handles annual software contracts. Nothing on this list matches ZoomInfo's depth on large American companies, and the G2 result above is not marketing noise. If your buyers are Fortune 2000 and your motion depends on knowing who reports to whom, the $33,500 is buying something real. Without that budget, our guide to multi-thread a deal past one contact scores four cheaper routes to the rest of the committee.
Leave if you are paying enterprise prices for mid-market coverage, if your accounts are European, or if the seat minimum forces you to buy three licences for two people. Those are the three profiles where the contract costs more than the data is worth.
How to choose in three questions
- Can you commit to a year? No points to Freelvy, Apollo, Lusha, UpLead or RocketReach. Yes keeps Cognism, Seamless.AI and ZoomInfo in play.
- Where are your buyers? Spread across niches a database indexes poorly points to Freelvy's live search for lead generation. US enterprise points to ZoomInfo. EMEA phone points to Cognism.
- Do you want a running motion or rows? A motion points to Freelvy's single thread, Apollo's bundle or Seamless.AI's built-in calling and email. Rows point to Lusha, UpLead or RocketReach. Building your own points to Clay.
How we verified these numbers
ZoomInfo publishes no price list, so its figures come from Vendr's marketplace data (page updated February 2026) and Cleanlist's 2026 pricing guide, linked inline, and its contract terms from ZoomInfo's own pricing guide, updated July 7, 2026. Apollo, Lusha, UpLead, RocketReach and Clay prices were read on each vendor's pricing page on September 24, 2026, as was Seamless.AI's pricing page, which lists plan contents without prices. Cognism publishes no prices, so its figures come from Landbase's 2026 analysis, and Seamless.AI's reported range comes from Docket's research, last verified in April 2026. Every cost per record in the second table is our own arithmetic and is labelled as such.
FAQ
How much does ZoomInfo cost in 2026?
Third-party guides put Professional near $14,995 a year, Advanced near $24,995 and Elite above $39,995, all annual with a three-seat minimum. Vendr's aggregate of more than 1,000 purchases puts the median signed contract at $33,500 a year, with a range from $7,200 to $156,000.
What is the cheapest ZoomInfo alternative?
RocketReach Essentials at $19 per seat per month on annual billing, or $39 billed monthly, is the lowest seat price here, though it covers email only. UpLead Essentials costs $99 a month with no contract, for 170 contacts that each include email and mobile. Freelvy starts at €49 a month for 1,500 credits with unlimited team members and no per-seat charge.
Which ZoomInfo alternative has the best European data?
Cognism, for phone-verified mobiles across the UK, DACH, the Nordics, Benelux, France and Spain. The trade is an annual contract at five figures with no self-serve entry. For teams that would rather describe a customer than buy a region, Freelvy searches 40+ live sources from one prompt.
How much does Seamless.AI cost compared with ZoomInfo?
Seamless.AI publishes no price for its paid plans. Docket's research, last verified in April 2026, reports Pro at $79 to $150 per user per month, which our arithmetic puts at $4,740 to $9,000 a year for five users. That sits below ZoomInfo Professional's reported $14,995, on a 12-month term with a 60-day cancellation window.
Can you get ZoomInfo month to month?
Not on a paid plan. ZoomInfo's own pricing guide, updated July 7, 2026, describes paid plans as annual subscriptions with a minimum number of seats, and only the free ZoomInfo Lite tier comes without an annual commitment. 2026 analyses report a three-seat minimum and auto-renewal unless notice arrives 60 to 90 days before the renewal date. That structure is the single most common reason buyers start looking at the alternatives in this article.
Is Apollo a real replacement for ZoomInfo?
For US mid-market prospecting, largely yes, and for a fraction of the entry cost. One Apollo Basic seat costs $588 a year on annual billing, about 4 percent of ZoomInfo Professional's reported $14,995, and three seats come to $1,764, about 12 percent. It bundles sequences and a dialer that ZoomInfo charges separately for. It does not match ZoomInfo on enterprise org charts, intent depth or coverage of very large accounts. Our Apollo versus ZoomInfo comparison sets out four situations.
What does a ZoomInfo record cost per unit?
On Professional at roughly $14,995 a year with a reported 5,000 bulk credits, about $3.00 per record. On Advanced, near $24,995 a year for a reported 10,000 bulk credits, about $2.50, before the 1,000 credits per user per month that the same guide reports. Overage credits are reported around $1.10. Those unit costs are our arithmetic on third-party figures, not quotes.
Do any of these tools offer a free plan?
Lusha offers 40 credits a month free, Apollo offers a free tier with about 75 credits a month, Clay offers 100 Data Credits capped at 200 rows per table, Seamless.AI offers a free account with 50 credits, UpLead a 7-day trial with 5 credits, and ZoomInfo Lite gives 10 credits a month, or 25 with Community Edition. Freelvy runs a free 7-day trial with no credit card. Cognism works through a demo and offers a free data sample rather than a free plan.
