ZoomInfo fits a North American enterprise team that needs intent data. Cognism fits a calling team in Europe that pays for phone-verified mobiles.

Key takeaways

  • Neither vendor publishes a price. Vendr's procurement data puts the median ZoomInfo contract at $33,500 a year, based on 1,577 purchases, read on October 19, 2026. Vendr has no Cognism page to read.
  • ZoomInfo's pricing page states no seat minimum, and two 2026 guides report three seats on paid plans. Each Cognism package includes 5 seats, per its pricing page read on October 19, 2026.
  • Cognism's Diamond Data page claims 10m+ phone-verified contacts and numbers three times more likely to connect than standard mobiles, as read on October 19, 2026.
  • By our arithmetic on 2026 third-party estimates, the entry package costs about $417 per seat a month at ZoomInfo (three seats) and about $375 at Cognism Standard (five seats).
  • ZoomInfo's license terms say the agreement is not cancellable. Vendr reports notice periods of 30 to 90 days, and third-party guides report 60 to 90 days of notice at Cognism.

A sales leader who shortlists these two is comparing two quotes, not two price lists. This page compares them on the numbers a quote hides: the cost of a usable mobile number, the seat floor, the renewal clause and where each database is deep.

Which situation are you buying for?

The choice depends on four situations. A North American team that sells on intent picks ZoomInfo. A European calling floor picks Cognism. A team selling in both regions needs to test both on its own accounts. A team under five seats or without an annual budget should look at neither first.

How do ZoomInfo and Cognism compare at a glance?

Both are quote-only annual contracts with a credit meter. ZoomInfo sells a seat floor and tiers of credits. Cognism sells packages of five seats with a credit allowance. The table below lines up what each vendor publishes and what third parties report, with Freelvy as a third column.

ZoomInfo's median comes from Vendr's marketplace page, read October 19, 2026. Vendr's marketplace had no Cognism page on that date, so no Cognism median is shown.

What does the entry package cost on each?

On third-party 2026 estimates, the entry paid package costs about $14,995 a year for three seats on ZoomInfo and about $22,500 a year for five seats on Cognism Standard. Divided by seats and twelve months, that is about $417 and $375 per seat a month. Both figures are our arithmetic on estimates, not quotes anyone received.

ZoomInfo's figure comes from the 2026 pricing guides of Cleanlist and Landbase, which both report about $14,995 for three seats on the entry tier. Cognism's figure comes from ColdIQ, which reports buyer deals near $22,500 a year for a 5-seat Standard plan, and from SyncGTM, which reports a platform fee near $15,000 plus about $1,500 per user a year.

Cost per seat per month, entry packageOur arithmetic on 2026 third-party estimates (Cleanlist and Landbase for ZoomInfo, ColdIQ and SyncGTM for Cognism), read on October 19, 2026. Freelvy prices are published per seat, billed monthly.
OptionPrice
Freelvy Starter€99/seat/month
Freelvy Pro€199/seat/month
Cognism Standard, 5 seats$375/seat/month
ZoomInfo entry tier, 3 seats$417/seat/month

The entry package is not where most contracts end. Vendr's median ZoomInfo contract, $33,500 a year, is more than twice the $14,995 entry estimate, because buyers add seats, modules and credits. Cognism's Pro package, intent topics and extra credits push its contracts up in the same way.

What does a usable mobile number cost?

Divide the contract by the contacts you can reveal. Cognism's own comparison page states an annual allowance of 10,000 credits per user on Standard, and its pricing page says one credit reveals one contact. Five Standard seats therefore hold 50,000 credits, and about $22,500 for them gives roughly $0.45 per contact. That is our arithmetic on a third-party price.

ZoomInfo's pricing page says each export costs one credit and that every package includes a predetermined number of monthly credits, but it publishes no credit count. Two 2026 guides give different bulk credit counts for the entry tier (Landbase reports 2,500), so no per-record cost is shown for ZoomInfo here. Ask the rep for the total in writing.

A mobile can also cost more than one credit. Cognism does not publish a separate rate for Diamond contacts. ColdIQ's and Emelia's 2026 analyses both report that a phone-verified Diamond contact counts as 2 credits against 1 for a standard contact. ZoomInfo's per-mobile rule is not published.

The cheaper record is not always the cheaper call. Cognism's Diamond Data page says a phone-verified number reaches the right person every 8 dials. A wrong number costs a rep's time, which no credit price shows.

Where is each database strong?

The decision comes down to where your buyers sit. SyncGTM's October 2026 comparison frames it as ZoomInfo for the United States and Cognism for EMEA. Cognism claims 10m+ phone-verified contacts on its Diamond Data page and says its verified numbers are three times more likely to connect, in a study it describes as independent.

That split is the whole decision for a team selling in both regions. SyncGTM's 2026 Cognism review says the data accuracy drops outside Europe, and Cognism's own claim covers only the contacts it phone-verifies.

The fair test takes an afternoon. Pick 50 accounts you already know, in each region you sell to, and ask both vendors to reveal them during the trial or sample. Count the mobiles that ring through to the right person. ZoomInfo's pricing page offers a free trial you can use for that test, and our guide to ZoomInfo pricing covers the details.

How do the contracts renew?

Neither vendor's public pages state a notice period, so it lives in the order form. Vendr reports that ZoomInfo contracts often auto-renew, with notice periods of typically 30 to 90 days and yearly escalators of typically 5 to 10 percent. For Cognism, SyncGTM and Emelia report automatic renewal with 60 to 90 days of written notice, and four 2026 analyses (Landbase, SyncGTM, ColdIQ and Emelia) report renewal increases of 10 to 15 percent.

ZoomInfo's license terms state that the agreement is not cancellable and remains in effect until it expires or is terminated under its terms.

On a $33,500 contract, a 10 percent increase adds $3,350 to year two. Calendar the notice date on the day you sign, and ask for a cap on renewal increases before signature, when you still have negotiating power. Our Cognism pricing guide details the add-ons that sit on top of the quote.

ZoomInfo vs Cognism: the head-to-head verdict

ZoomInfo wins for a large North American sales organisation that uses intent data, org charts and deep CRM integration. Cognism wins for a European calling team, because phone-verified mobiles are what it sells. On price, the entry package favours Cognism per seat, while neither vendor publishes a figure.

The deciding question is where your reps dial. If most calls go to North American accounts, ZoomInfo's coverage is worth its premium. If most go to European accounts, Cognism's Diamond Data is the product.

Neither suits a team below five sellers. Cognism's package carries five seats, and ZoomInfo's entry tier is reported near $15,000 a year. Our Cognism alternatives for small teams list monthly options that keep mobile numbers.

Freelvy, the third option: describe the customer instead of renting a database

Freelvy is our product. It is an AI sales platform that you use the way you use ChatGPT or Claude. You describe the customer you want in one prompt, and Freelvy searches 40+ live sources at query time, including maps, official company registries, job boards, storefronts and ad libraries, instead of filtering a stored database.

Freelvy screenshot: a table of web agencies in Austin that use HubSpot, with website, headcount, city, HubSpot status and what they do
In Freelvy, a single prompt returns the matching companies as a table.

Every row is enriched through provider cascades, 18 for emails and 12 for phone numbers. They find and verify more than 92% of emails and find more than 90% of phone numbers. Freelvy then writes and sequences the outreach in the same thread, so search, enrichment and sequencing stay together.

Pricing is per seat, billed monthly, with no lock-in. Starter costs €99 per seat a month with 2,200 credits per seat, and Pro costs €199 with 4,500. Enterprise is on quote. A verified email costs 3 credits and a phone number found costs 15, so a Starter seat covers about 146 phone numbers a month. An email lookup that finds nothing is never billed. Seats are unlimited, managers get free view-only access, and unused credits stay available for two more months. Each seat includes email and LinkedIn sending accounts, and the sequencer is unlimited.

Free 7-day trial, no credit card, at freelvy.com.

Freelvy isn't for teams that would rather pay one tool for the data, another for enrichment and a third for sending.

How we verified this

On October 19, 2026, we read Cognism's pricing, Diamond Data and comparison pages, ZoomInfo's pricing page, license terms and press release, and Vendr's ZoomInfo marketplace page, and we checked that Vendr has no Cognism page. On the same day we read the 2026 analyses of Cleanlist, Landbase, ColdIQ, Emelia and SyncGTM. Costs per seat and per contact are our arithmetic.

FAQ

Is Cognism cheaper than ZoomInfo?

Per seat at entry, yes. On 2026 third-party estimates, the entry package costs about $375 per seat a month on Cognism Standard against about $417 on ZoomInfo's entry tier. Vendr reports a $33,500 median for ZoomInfo and has no Cognism page. Neither vendor publishes prices, so only a written quote settles it.

Which has better mobile numbers, ZoomInfo or Cognism?

It depends on the region. Cognism's Diamond Data page claims 10m+ phone-verified contacts and numbers three times more likely to connect than standard mobiles, which makes it the stronger pick for European calling. SyncGTM's 2026 comparison points to ZoomInfo for the United States.

Does ZoomInfo or Cognism offer monthly billing?

Not as standard. Vendr reports that annual prepayment is standard at ZoomInfo, and ZoomInfo's license terms say the agreement is not cancellable. Cognism sells prepaid annual contracts, per ColdIQ and Cleanlist. ZoomInfo's pricing page offers a free trial, and Cognism offers a data sample instead of a free plan.

How many seats do I need to buy?

Cognism packages each include 5 seats, per its pricing page read on October 19, 2026. ZoomInfo's pricing page states no seat minimum, and Cleanlist and Landbase report three seats on paid plans. A team of two pays for seats it does not use on both.

How much notice does cancelling take?

It is set in each order form. Vendr reports typically 30 to 90 days for ZoomInfo, and SyncGTM and Emelia report 60 to 90 days for Cognism. ZoomInfo's license terms say the agreement is not cancellable during its term. Miss the window and the contract renews, often at a higher price.

Can I test both before signing?

Yes, in a limited way. ZoomInfo's pricing page offers a free trial, and Cognism provides a data sample through its sales team, per ColdIQ. Use both on the same 50 known accounts in each region you sell to, and count the mobiles that reach the right person.
